Welcome To Kent Cloth

Kent Cloth explores a slower approach to textile production. We are sowing the seeds for a Natural Dye Garden & the cultivation of flax growing in Kent.

Kent Cloth Textile Works

Kent Cloth will take you on a journey exploring European Linen to discovering natural colour and fibres in Kent.

From the white Cliffs of Dover we will take you on a botanical journey around the ‘Garden of England’, referencing the patterns and forms found in Kent’s bountiful marshes along the Swale estuary, meandering hop vines, luscious fruit trees and historic floral gardens.

Kent Cloth embraces the local heritage and landscape to create a cloth that reflects the beauty of Kent’s wildlife and celebrates local traditions, raising awareness of provenance and sustainability through eco-friendly production techniques.

Flax, Fibre and Plant Dyes

Francesca Baur of Fable & Base will develop a series of Textile Works based on seasons exploring the landscape of Kent based in 4 locations. As well as creating new work Francesca will be growing flax and a natural dye garden, to see if we can produce Kentish fibre and colour.
